Made of hardened tool steel for superior clamping power, lowered the angle of the vise to as low as possible (ground off the extra metal), cerakoted black. Now I can get down to about 11 dps around 5/8" above top of vise! 
I got so low w/ the angle that i accidentally got into the threaded portion on the side of the one half but fortunately this will still work perfectly since it’s strong steel and not just aluminum!
I will keep you all posted on angles…
