Thank you for all the comments. Curtis – I ordered the 3/4″ vise screws. I have found you can always make them shorter with a mill file.

I will take pictures of my new setup latter this week.

I have ordered some steel rods,some heavy duty joint ends, and a bag of replacement screws for the jaw vice from McMaster Carr.

I found this very interesting video on the 3m tape.

I ordered some of the tape from ebay. I will let everyone know how it ends up.

I will have plenty of the vice screws left over. Let me know if anybody would like a couple of them (just pay postage)
