I believe they may have customized previous model cases they sold. Original idea was the case was shipping crate but very large and expensive shipping. I believe my G4P pedestal model came in an adapted case for that reason.
That sounds about right. It is nice having a case though. I bought a do-it-yourself case from WE for my WE66 Obsidian that worked out very well. Since I’m disabled and don’t hunt and camp anymore, I gave it to my son. He and my daughter-in-law loves it!

03/22/2024 at 11:39 am #58927I did. They said they are still determining if they will be offering a case and have not made a decision yet. Seems a bit odd, since the reviews all showed a case with custom foam insert. Since the work to create the custom insert was already done, I’m surprised they aren’t offering the case as at least a custom order option, if not a stocked item.
Wow, that sounds strange. I wouldn’t be surprised if they had some before long. I would check the website every day or two. Or maybe you will get lucky and someone will sell you theirs.

03/22/2024 at 10:31 am #58925Hi all- I just got a Gen 4 Pro (with shelf) and am looking for a case. When I watched a bunch of YouTube reviews, they all seemed to indicate that it came in a case. Even though the listing said nothing about a case, I assumed it was just included but not mentioned for some reason. This isn’t WE’s fault, it’s on me for assuming. However, I really was hoping for that case both for mobility as well as for storage. I really don’t have the space to just leave this out all the time, and I was planning on being able to be mobile with it as well. I guess that the case all the reviewers showed was only included as part of the initial launch? Maybe? In any case, (pun intended!), does anyone have one that they would like to sell? I know I can purchase the same case directly from the supplier, but that custom foam insert is the real goal here. Anyone wanna make a deal?
They might just be out of them right now. Email WE and ask them if they can get you one or let you know when they will be available.
03/18/2024 at 9:05 pm #5892202/27/2024 at 4:50 pm #58891Thanks for all of the responses. I ordered the WE66. Looking foward to giving it a try. I’ll have to use the WE120 to get the true angle of all my knives for a little while.
Sounds great! I’m sure that you will love it.
02/22/2024 at 1:39 pm #58886I’ll probably end up selling my WE120. I just updated my original WE last year since the older arms had a much sloppier fit. The WE120 has been a nice upgrade, but I’ve noticed that I’ve had a lot more problems with FFG blades like the Spyderco Mule and my Zero Tolerance 0707. It’s a pain to clamp them and get them to stay. I’ve tried almost every suggestion out there and none of them have worked great. I’m hoping the DualCam will do a much better job, but I’ve seen a few user reviews that have said it still is too loose. So I probably should do a little more research before spending almost $1K.
I’m sorry, I have a WE130, not a 120. My brains were scattered a while ago. I do love my Gen4 Pro! If I could only keep one of my sharpening systems and had to sell the rest, I would keep the Gen4 Pro. I haven’t any problems with mine. But it’s the new Gen3 V2 jaws that help clamping FFG and distally tapered blades. The only real difference that I have noticed with the vises is that the DualCam vise is smoother and takes less hand strength to lock. Both of my vises hold blades very well.
If the vise does feel loose, you need to take it apart and check the Bellville washer stack. Occasionally one will be missing. I had that problem with my WE66 Obsidian IIRC. I added a washer, and it started working perfectly.
Don’t worry about spending the money. Wicked Edge will take care of you so don’t worry about that. If your sharpener ain’t right, WE will find out what is wrong and take care of you. Don’t be too quick to listen to people running their heads about WE. Wicked Edge has the best customer service and stands behind their products better than any company I’ve ever dealt with. Anyone that says that they don’t, is a liar.1 user thanked author for this post.
02/22/2024 at 2:10 am #58882I just watched a video on the WE66 since I misunderstood how it was working. I thought the top knobs were for locking the angle into a set slot like the WE120. Then the side knobs were to refine the angle. The WE120 was a pain since you couldn’t see what the final angle was when you used the angle adjustment knobs. Now that I see how it’s working, that’s the version that will definitely make things easier.
I’m glad to hear that you have things sorted out. I bought the aftermarket SS micro-adjust for my WE120. It is much better than the OEM. I love my WE120 and use it all the time still. I have it on a set down table. I have my Gen4 Pro on a standup bench. So, the one I use just depends on if I want to sit or stand. I love all of my Wicked Edge sharpening systems!! I don’t have my WE66 set up right now, but I could set it up pretty quick if I wanted to.
02/21/2024 at 6:38 am #58864I can’t imagine not using the micro-adjust on every knife I sharpen. The main purpose is to match the angle of the edge of the knife you just mounted. If you know what that angle is, you’ll want to be spot-on to avoid starting a major profile job. If you don’t know what the angle is, you’ll want to use the micro-adjusts to zero-in on the current bevel with the Sharpie method and a loupe or hand-held microscope. If you are starting a new job, you’ll want to record the blade height, angle setting and horizontal position. Recording the measured angle is very helpful. But if the measured angle is, for example, 20.5 degrees, do you return to 20 as a set angle or to 21? Being off by a half of a degree can cause you to create a lot of work for you. With the precision that the Wicked Edge works to, being off by 0.15 dps can make the difference of sharpening at the apex or sharpening at the shoulder. This is even more impactful at the belly of a typical hunting or pocket knife. Being ready and able to adjust to a tenth of a degree solves a lot of problems.
I agree. Using the micro-adjust is much faster.
02/14/2024 at 1:56 am #58856Also, to keep from rounding off the point of your blade, don’t extend the tip side of your stone more than halfway of the width of the stone past the tip. Lift the stone as you get to the center of the stone or before halfway.
02/07/2024 at 12:34 pm #58847IMO, if you need multitool and a knife – just get separate multitool and a good EDC knife, I’ve never really digged idea of having it all-in-one tbh. Knife just becomes this thick slab of metal that is not comfortable to use whenever you need it, and if you are using multitool attachments – why not just get a separate Leatherman. Just my 2 cents 😀[/quote]
That’s what I do. When I leave home, I have a handgun and five knives on me. I carry my multitool in my bag.

12/10/2023 at 11:21 am #58790Hi Jack. I would also recommend Victorinox knives. They have some good inexpensive knives.
12/08/2023 at 2:55 pm #58787That’s cool, Robert.
12/07/2023 at 8:25 pm #58785Welcome to the forum, Robert. You’re missing out on a real treat. I love sharpening with my Wicked Edge sharpeners. My chisels and scissors are probably sharper than most people’s knives.
