I don’t know about the prices in the US, but on the Dutch forum I regularly trade on:

    – a large used regular Sebenza traded for EUR 225
    – a small new Sebenza with unique graphics traded for EUR 300
    – a large new regular Sebenza traded for EUR 250

Based on this, I’d say yours is worth in the Dutch market EUR 250-275. That is about $335-$371.

But the US market is not the European market: Sebenza’s are more expensive in Europe than in the US, since we have to deal with postage and quite substantial import taxes. If I buy a knife from the US, its price in dollars in the US usually equals its price in EUR in Europe. So that would mean a price of $250-275 for your knife in the US.

If you want better information to base yourself on, try to look at the prices for which similar Sebenza’s traded at forums like Bladeforums.

    Success!

Put it on ebay and say you’ll only sell in Europe. In that way postage will be limited and there’ll be no import taxes. Meaning you can ask European prices :-).

If you are lucky, there are already a few Sebenza’s on ebay which will help you determine your price.

Tony, do not let it go too cheep.
It is a Damascus Sebenza, look to be in good shape and you have all the papers.
I assume you have sharpened it, factory edge are worth more.
I would think $ 450 to $ 550 US or more would be a good range it go for.

i have looked into exporting and man its a hassle from Norway no less than three documents has to be filled and shipped.. if bureaucracy one day were to go down id be a happy camper.
i envy country’s where the gov doesn’t go everything in their power to cripple their people in paperwork..
