I store my stones in the box that my Wicked Edge came in.  All my stone lie side by side so they don’t scrape against one another.  That’s true for all the grit stones, but the leather strops, I treat them differently.

Each strop is in its own ziplock bag and it’s sealed.

Is that good, bad or unnecessary?

Michael, each strop handle has two different grit strop compounds.  If you use a new/fresh plastic bag each and every time.  When you remove the strop handle to use it, discard the bag then roll the strop back up in the new/fresh bag, when finished, it’ll probably help prevent cross-contamination of grit compounds.

Here’s another method for a small initial investment is these strop covers offered by Wicked Edge.  Be sure to label the covers so they always go back on the same strop handle and same grit side.  These handles slide snuggly on the paddles and don’t contact the the strop face.  When using the strops, I leave the strop side covered that I hold in my hands.  Just as an extra measure to prevent cross-contamination.
