I enjoyed Josh’s video on how to use the cube to determine stone angles. I have a spread sheet app on my iPhone “Spread Sheet Touch”.
I made a spread sheet to calculate the stone angle.
Note I used the terms edge bevel and blade bevel as opposed to primary and secondary bevel.
This looks like it works but I am a beginner at this so I would appreciate feedback if I made a mistake.
It is important to use + and – signs for your angles. If the Left arrow on the cube is up I call this a + angle.
If the Left arrow on the cube is down I call this a – angle.
As a rule the right side of the knife has negative angles and the left side had positive angles.
I do not know how to lock cells on this app so I colored the cells red that have formulas. Do not add data to red cells
You add your measurements to the white cells
The three photos show how it is set up.
