I’m looking to add one more set of stones to my setup, to help with maintaining some knives and mirror polishing.

I am torn between the micro fine stones or diamond lapping films in the one and half micron.

    Any suggestions or opinions?

They both have advantages and disadvantages, but my personal preference is the lapping films on glass…

I was just looking for one more step!
I feel like water stones are a whole other ball game.

I was kidding. I think both the ceramic stones and diamond lapping film are a good next step. As Josh wrote, it’s personal. I prefer the ceramic stones.

Yeah. I have to say I’m right there with ya, bud.

    Any suggestions or opinions?

Maintenance is essentially nonexistent in terms of cleaning and lapping the surface(s).
