    Welcome to the forum Kjosn.

If you have “not” used leather on the “Wicked Edge” before I recommend “Cow Leather” to learn with.

The regular leather or Cow Leather is the lower priced leather.

It is common when learning how to use the strops to cut the leather.

That is what I did when I started using leather strops on the “Wicked Edge”, yep cut the leather.

I think I got past that, I now use the “Kangaroo Leather Strops”, Leather by its self can really get it sharp so “Be Careful”.

Leather is the only abrasive I use on my “Straight Razor” and I have got a comfortable shave for years.

Stay safe Kjosn & thank you for being part of the Forum.

Kjosn,  I always finish every knife I sharpen with at least the 4µ/2µ strop pair.  This gives me a good balance between enhanced sharpness, smoothness and bevel polish.  This strop grit pair would fit right-in with your sharpening progression shown in the original post.

If you’re looking to get into W.E. strops on a budget you can purchase just the leather strop pair and apply these inexpensive stropping compounds.
