I think we have addressed the immediate problem, and will work on a long-term solution.

It appears that the search plugin we’re using (Relevanssi) has generated a very large database table – 1 million rows! I know we have great participation, but I don’t see how or why it would’ve become so large. So, today we re-indexed the database to make it a bit speedier, but I expect the problem to recur if we don’t take some longer term steps.

Here’s what the database size looked like, leading up to the performance problems. It apparently got so large due to the way our search plugin is indexing posts, etc. Our dev team is looking into a better way to implement it.

Do something different today?  Today’s the 1st time I’ve noticed the forum is decently responsive.  (I saw no change on 4/27).

Well, for whatever reason, today is the first time since you changed everything over that a page will load without any hesitation before it starts.  So don’t touch nothin haha. 🙂
