So i was wondering. Where do the 1.4/.6 micron stones fall in the grit order of the other stones? I know their grit translates to about 14K and 40K grit, but the substrate is stone/ceramic. So they will act grittier than they are. I have read a couple articles where they say to use these after the 1200/1600 ceramics and then move onto the leather strops. I’ve also read in others to use these AFTER the leather stops. So, needless to say, I’m confused. I’m after a shine such as what you see on Clay’s pic of his ZT 0600 in this thread https://knife.wickededgeusa.com/forum/4-knife-photos/9-super-polished-edges?start=70. Right now I am using the PP2 with 100/200, 400/600, 800/1000, 1200/1600, 14um/10um, 5/3.5um. I would like to add the 1.4/.6um stones and 1.5/.5um leather strops. Would the 1.4/.6um be a good investment in getting the results that I’m seeking? Thanks y’all! Stay sharp and stay strong!

I had pretty much come to the same conclusion. Honestly it doesn’t look like it makes much difference at all. Looks like I can get away with just going from 1600 Ceramic to my 14/10um strop.
